precious past and the innovative future – human and nature in a dialog
Geomdan Identity
The concept for a building with a folded roof based on the identity idea of the Geomdan district is inspired by the unique topography of the area, which is characterized by its rolling hills and lush greenery reminding locals of “folding screens”. The building reflects this landscape identity through its distinctive roof design, which is shaped like a series of folded hills.
Natural Skyline
The building embraces the idea of being part of the natural environment, with its folded roof creating an undulating shape that blends seamlessly with the silhouette of surrounding mountains.
Eco-belt and Hiking Trail
The green roof is designed to connect fragmented mountain belt through eco-bridges, helping to restore the natural connections between habitats. It also serves as a trail, allowing people to experience nature with a breathtaking view and promoting outdoor recreation for the community.
Sustainability
Design reduces the impact of the built environment and enhances the overall health of the environment and improves air quality. The incorporation of sustainable design elements and stormwater management reduces energy consumption contributing to a more sustainable future. The design promotes community cohesion and contributes to a higher quality of life for local residents.
